A Creative Morning at Makers, Painters & Mayhem

If you're looking for a fun, hands-on school holiday activity in the Hawkesbury, look no further than Makers, Painters & Mayhem—a vibrant, welcoming art studio tucked away in the heart of Windsor.

We recently booked into their 1.5-hour beginner pottery class, and it was a big hit all around. The kids had a blast creating their own pottery wall hangers, while us parents got to explore Windsor. Jo, the lovely potter who runs the classes, made everyone feel right at home, which made the whole experience easy and enjoyable.

While the kids got busy (and messy—in the best way), we wandered over to Cricca for a delicious wood-fired lunch, followed by a cheeky cocktail at Luxe. If you're around on a Sunday, definitely check out the Windsor Mall markets, take a stroll through the historic streets, and maybe grab an ice cream while you're at it. It's such a charming little town.

What I really love about Makers, Painters & Mayhem is the range of workshops on offer. Think painting, sculpting, clay hand-building, cross stitch, crochet, and more. Whether your kids are new to art or already little creatives, there's something to suit every age and ability.

They run workshops all year round, not just during the holidays and have options for adults too. (I’ve already got my eye on the Kokedama class for next time!)

If you’re staying with us at Dido’s Place, this is such an easy and fun activity to include in your stay. It’s a short drive into Windsor and a great way to break up the day—especially during school holidays when you're looking for something different to do with the kids.
