Just 90 minutes from Sydney, Dido's Place is family-friendly accommodation set on 9 private acres in East Kurrajong, in the beautiful Hawkesbury region of NSW. During your stay with us, you'll have the entire property all to yourselves.
Take a bushwalk down to Roberts Creek at the rear of the property and try to spot a platypus, or why not try your luck in fishing for carp in our dam. Looking for something a little more competitive, why not have a game of outdoor cricket, Footgolf or a friendly game of Finska? For the kids, we’ve got a large trampoline with a basketball hoop and tyre swing to burn off some energy. Or for a slower pace, a sandpit and outdoor exploring activities. There is so much to do, you won’t want to leave!
And it doesn’t end there! As it gets dark, it’s time to light the campfire, so get those marshmallows roasting and cosy up with a hot chocolate by the fire. On a clear night, why not take the telescope out and get lost in the sea of billions of stars.
Kids Nature Play Zone at Dido’s Place
Our newest addition at Dido’s Place is our Kids Nature Play Zone, created to encourage outdoor play, imagination and hands-on exploration during your stay.
There’s plenty for little hands and big imaginations to discover, including:
Magic Potion Stand – collect leaves, petals and other natural treasures and create your own magical concoctions.
Mud Kitchen – make mud pies, nature cakes and whatever else their imagination can dream up.
Potting Stand – get little hands into the soil, learn about plants and pot up something special to take home.
Nature Play – explore, create and play using natural materials found around the property.
Sensory Garden – a peaceful little garden designed to be explored through the senses.

Fairy Garden – keep your eyes peeled for tiny fairy doors and houses hidden amongst the garden and trees.
Our sensory garden encourages children to slow down, explore and experience nature using all five senses.
Listen to the gentle sounds of the wind chimes and the birds in the surrounding bushland. Smell the herbs and fragrant flowers. Run your fingers over soft, furry and textured leaves. Look for different colours, shapes and tiny creatures amongst the plants. Depending on what is growing and ready to harvest, children can even taste fresh herbs, fruit and vegetables straight from the garden.
The Campfire
There’s something pretty special about gathering around the campfire! We’ll have it set up and ready for you to light, with firewood provided and our Campfire Kit containing matches, firelighters, gloves and some fun campfire recipes. Then all you need to do is pull up a seat, toast some marshmallows and enjoy a cosy evening under the stars.
Campfire available seasonally and not available during the bushfire danger period, 1 October–31 March.
The Veggie Patch
Gardeners of all ages are welcome to explore and forage from our vegetable patch during their stay! Depending on the season, you might dig up potatoes and sweet potatoes to cook over the campfire or BBQ, pick strawberries and tomatoes, or snip fresh herbs to add to dinner.
Throughout the year we grow a changing mix of corn, sweet peas, potatoes, oranges, mulberries, sweet potatoes, strawberries, tomatoes, silverbeet, eggplants, chillies and herbs, including lavender, sorrel, chives, parsley, rosemary, mint, oregano, lemongrass and thyme.
What’s available to pick will vary with the seasons and weather.
Outdoor Activities for the Whole Family
There's no need to leave the property to keep everyone entertained. Challenge the family to a game of FootGolf, cricket, Finska or croquet, try your hand at fishing or archery, bounce on the trampoline, explore the property on foot or pull out the telescope for some stargazing after dark. All sporting equipment is provided.
Outdoor Hot Tub Spa
There's nothing quite like sinking into the warm outdoor spa at the end of a day exploring the Hawkesbury. Our spacious 10-person spa is available year-round, with beautiful views across the property and plenty of room to relax together. There's also an outdoor shower nearby for a quick rinse before or after your soak.
Kids Water Play Zone
Splash, pour, scoop and squirt! Perfect for those hot summer days, our Water Play Zone is packed with fun, featuring a waterfall discovery wall, play & shade toddler pool, splash water table and loads of water toys. It’s a great spot for kids to cool down and don’t forget, we have complimentary Zooper Doopers in the freezer. We have your hot days sorted!
Alfresco Lounge & Dining
Kick back and relax in our outdoor alfresco lounge and dining areas. Enjoy a glass of wine by the outdoor fire, curl up with a book from our library on the deck chairs, or simply sit back and take in the peaceful surrounds.
Featuring a large outdoor lounge, outdoor fire, strip heaters, ceiling fan, deck chairs, BBQ and outdoor dining suite, our alfresco area is the perfect place for your family or group to come together for long lunches, relaxed BBQ dinners and evenings overlooking the property.
